It’s all about the money by Michelle - I won’t say I’m a “gamer” by any means, but this new update deserves talking about. Blizzard announced that Diablo III players will have to be online to play the game even if they plan on “slaying demons solo” in an attempt to fight cheating and enhance the multiplayer experience - this means no offline campaigning like in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. And more importantly, the addition of the new online market interface, Auction House “allows players to buy and sell loot not just for virtual gold, but for cold, hard cash. (source)
Wow! I remember when I was younger and I played Neopets and got a thrill from interacting with online users to possibly buy (with my neobux) a Brown Clockwork Grundo, Curved Ruki Dagger or even an Air Faerie Crown. I find “gamers” to be some of the most intelligent and resourceful people out there so I can imagine some making a hefty profit. This is really the future, guys. All I’m really saying is, watch out, Bill Gates.
My Tuesday article!...kind of a must-read.
